When I was growing up, we had a family tradition.  All the relatives from the Okanagan Valley and from the Lower Mainland of BC would meet together on Thanksgiving Monday at Manning Provincial Park to go hiking and picnic together.  It’s just a 2 to 3 hour drive from either direction, and an amazing way to have a reunion.  But the years went by, and folks moved farther afield, and gradually the tradition died out. But this year, my two brothers, my sister, and I decided to resurrect it–a couple weeks early!  We hiked around the Lightning Lakes, and then up in the alpine meadows.  And I’m celebrating those long-ago Thanksgiving Monday memories by posting the snapshots from our Sept 27 sibling get-together today–Thanksgiving Monday 2014.  Enjoy!
