There is almost nothing lonelier than a playground in winter.  Can you imagine how lonely and neglected the swings and slides and picnic tables and benches must feel all winter?

But early spring is upon us, and the playground is sparkling with joy in the sunshine, as the little folks and their families have returned and filled the space with laughter and happy shouts and endless energy.  The scents of coffee and sandwiches and other picnic goodies swirl around on the springtime breezes.  Bikes and strollers roll along on the walkways.  Even though it is still early spring, and folks are still wrapped in jackets and hats and mittens, more and more are turning out every day.  And the playground is lonely no longer.
